In two stroke SI & CI engine , there are two stroke of piston and one revolution of crankshaft to complete one cycle.....IN two stroke engine there are ports...

But IN four stroke SI &CI engine , there are four stroke of piston and two revolution of crankshaft to complete one cycle....In four stroke engine there are valves...

1stroke = the movement of piston from one dead center to another.

if the suction, compression, power and exhaust are completed in two strokes of the piston, i.e one revolution of crank shaft, it is called as two stroke and if the four processes completed in four strokes of the piston, i.e two rev of crank shaft,it is called as four stroke engine.
