Hi,
I think you wanted to know the difference between Functions and Actions.

Action: Is nothing but any thing you are going to script will be in the forms of Actions.
One action can have more than one Action.
Action can be of 2 types:
1. Normal/non reusable action.
2.Reusable action.
while creating action we have option to make any actions re usable action.this kind of action can be called in different scripts or actions in future.

Function is Nothing but It gives you some value in return as an out come of function.
Functions are generally created and called during script/scripts for doing repetitive work.
