Speed is directly proportional to torque, and not inversely proportional.
We know that speed=distance/time.. or distance=speed*time and
torque=force*distance...
by equating both we get? Torque=force*speed*time..
From the above it is clear that if torque is increased speed also increases. This phenomenon is common in cars.
The speed will not increase when the torque increases for same power input.
We know that the formula for Power.2 pi N T?? ? ? ? ? ? ?P ? ? ?= ? ? ?------------- hp??4500?? ? ? ? ?Considering the above equation,for the same input of Power, when N(speed) increases, T(torque) should decrease. And vice versa.
oops i was wrong... speed is inversely proportional to torque..
speed is the distance traversed per unit time.. it is a scalar quantity. torque is the vector product of distance and force..it is a vector quantity. torque= r * F where r is distance between point of application of force and the point about which torque is to be calculated, * denotes the vector product, F is the force applied.

the first cyclist gives his force alone but, the second cyclist gives his force with addition to the rider behind him.so, the second cyclist have the tendency to give more torque than first cyclist.
