The uniform distribution of current throughout the conductor exists only for direct current. As the frequency increases non uniformity of distribution of current becomes more pronounced. The current density will be more at surface and as you go near the centre it is decreasing.
This is called the skin effect.

In AC supply in a conductor maximum current flows through outermost surface (skin) of the conductor because this path has low value of flux linkages (than the inner side conductor) hence low value of impedance (reactance) is called skin effect. More frequency will pronounce in more skin effect.

As the answers given are correct. It is a loss if the diameter of the conductor is large.

So skin effect have to be prevented
