An Impact Matrix is a project management tool that helps to narrow down a list of options through a systematic approach of comparing choices by selecting, weighing, and applying judgment against decision criteria.  It considers elements such as improvement opportunities or proposed decision options and ranks them by determining their weighted impact on objectives or targets.  It ensures that decisions are linked to the objectives which are fundamental to the decision.
