Use Cases are nothing but the simplified form of actions which a user would perform on an application while using it.

Please do not confuse with the Requirements. Use case do not cover the requirements entirely but they reflect the way the user would use the system.

For Eg: Use Cases for a Lift would be:

1. Press the down arrow for going down else press Up arrow to go Up
2. User presses Up arrow
3. The lift should come to the floor on which the user is and should stop and the door should open.
4. The user gets inside and the door should close automatically.
5. User presses the button for the respective floor.
6. the lift moves to the respective floor and the after reaching the floor the lift opens and the user comes out of the lift.
7. The door should close automatically.

I hope this would make things clear to you.
