Hai Prasanthi,This is Vasu working on QTP. The main Advantage of Active Screen is That you can see the snapshot of the screen on which you are testing a functionality. for example if your testing UID and PWD fields when you write script you can see the login window in active screen. The main disadvantage is that being pictorial representation it will occupy more memory which will reduce the performance of QTP when you are running the tests. To avoid that QTP has different activescreen modes like partial, full. Thats why generally we wont use active screen at our work place.Thanks,violinvasu
