Protocols for Loadrunner Testing Java Desktop application

Which protocol to use in Loadrunner for testing a desktop application developed in Java?

If the desktop java application communicates to a server via network communication, then use the appropriate protocol (HTTP/RMI-Java) to capture the traffic.? If not, then it's a pure desktop client without any server-client communication, where LoadRunner is not the tool to conduct the test; use Winrunner or QTP instead.?

LoadRunner 8.2 has the capability of recording purely desktop based activities. Use Protocol Web_Click&Script for the same.

Its better to go for the loadrunner 9.0 because its having lots of futures to support the desktop apps. Use CLICK AND SCRIPT.
