Hi,

The software to run Windows on linux can be done by only virtualization but VMWare is shareware and costly for the individual users to afford.

I will suggest you to go to the Qemu which is freeware and is best for virtualization of Windows in linux or unix environment

VMWare or Xen would allow you to create virtual machines which you could load the OS of you choice.

If you want to run Windows programs within a Linux host, have a look at Wine:

You could use VIRTUALBOX. It is a very compact virtualization software. It is open source. I have been using it on Ubuntu linux and I am running windows xp in virtualbox.
Their website is www.virtualbox.org
