Can i test .net applications in win runner testing tool. because people says that u cannot test .net applications in win runner. why?

Its not possible to test .Net applns with winrunner since .net is having both compiler and interpreter.We can use winrunner to test those languages which is having either compiler or interpreter. But not both toogether.
QTP can test those languages which are having both compiler and interpreter.
