That is right.Test Methodology will define in Test Plan.Test Plan usally prepared by Test Lead or Higher person.

When this question is asked in interview tht which methdology u used for ur project then this question focus is on ur analytical skills and decision making ability!So i don't think that ur answer was right U shd tell them general test methodology or some specified scenerio based strtegy!
