Web based application:An application that is accessed over a network such as the Internet or an intranet are known as web based applications.These applications are popular as they have the ability to update and maintain web applications without distributing and installing software on potentially thousands of client computers.It uses uses HTTP as its primary communications protocol.Here applications are usually broken into logical chunks called "tiers", where every tier is assigned a role.
Window based application:An application that is written to run under Microsoft Windows operating system is known as window based application. Such applications typically run under all 32-bit versions of Windows.These applications generally improves the speed at which they run as they run straight from the OS.
