Hi allCan anyone tell me how to test the two different vresions of spell check in MS Word in short span of 30 min. ie suppose the earlier version of the MS word consisted of say 5000 words and now the new version consists of say 5,00000 words. You now need to test the functionality of the newer version of spell check in 30 min. how will you achieve and be sure of your testing that you have covered the entire thing. In short what method will you adopt in such a case.

This is done thru parallel Testing where u reconcile output of new sys to the output of current system to verify new system performs operation correctly.

Hi Mab

Thanks for the reply..but could you please elaborate a bit about reconciling. You can reconcile the common words in both  the newer version of the spell check and the older version..how about testing the new added words. Please elaborate.

You can test this spell check only through QTP in 30 minutes not in manual
testing.

In QTP you must be familiar with using loop statement with the help of this you
can execute 5,00000 times but you cannot check more than 65536 in single action.

For one time parameterisation, you can check upto only 65536 words only
appropriate you have to do parameterisation for 7.65 times to complete your
spell check.

It`s very easy we can do with in 30 seconds just copy and paste all the words or entire passage in MS word select the entire passage ans click Tools - Spelling and grammer in this you can find which one is wrong and you can find a bug and you can clear it
