We can't get any answer for the given Question.  Kindly check whether it is 65% or 35%.  If 35% the answer is 20 questions.

No ..i think we can answer this .Now when the person has answered 7 questions correctly out of 14 his average is 7/14 =50%.

If we assume that every question which he answers is correct,as we have to find the min no of total questions in paper then it would come out to be

(7 previously correct + 8 now answered correctly )/22 - this turns out to be 68.1 % which qualify the criteria.

So the answer is 22.

Cheers

Dear Abhinav

Kindly note that after answering 7 questions correctly he got qualified. The selection criteria is 65%.   Hence this 7 questions correct must be equal to or greater than 65%.

Hence the total no of question is 7/65 *100 = 10.8 questions.  This is contradict with statement that he answered out of 14 questions.

Kindly clarify.

Deall all,The Answer is 20. Let me explain. What is asked is the min no. of questions .... so what we need to do is assuming that he answers every question from now on correctly, we need to find the no. of questions. First let us take 18 . We find that 65% of 18 is 11.7. Out of the 18 questions , he has finished answering 14 questions already out of which 7 is correct. So even if he answers the remaining 4 questions correctly, he gets to only 61.11% .... So ans is not 18. Now let us take 20. 65% of 20 is 13 . 14 questions are already answered and 7 correct out of them. So remaining is 6 questions. And if he answers all the 6 questions correctly , he gets to 7+6 = 13 which is the required % to pass in the exam. So the min. no. of questions is 20. Hope u have understood.RgdsKarthik
