Let x be total and y is total no. of matches

x/y=15
x=15y

x+23/y+1 =16
x+23=16y+16
x+7=16y
x=16y-7

16y-7=15y
y=7

x=105

 for 18*8=144

therefore

144-105=39

39 runs must be scored in this innings.
