how you get x=8 when x=1 you subtract 6x from 7x which equals 1x the u put 4=1x+3 then subtract 3 from both sides which equals 1 so x=1

Sum --> 6+7+8+9 = 30
Average weight     = 30/4 = 7.5

OR                  7.5  =  60
SO                  30   =  (60/7.5)30     
                              =  240 (Total Score)

So single weight carries 240/30 = 8 marks

So 6 weights = 48 Marks
     7 weights = 56 Marks
     8 weights = 64 Marks
     9 weights = 72 Marks
                       ________  
Total               240 Marks

So more than 50 = 3 subjects.
