Domain : technical attributes of dataelement is called domain.Dataelement : Symantic attributes are called dataelement.

Domain defines technical attribute of a field like value/base table , data type , length, value range also its an DDIC object it can be reused .

Dataelement defines semantic attributes of a field like description text (label) , domain , F1 documentation .

DATA ELEMENTS:
DATA ELEMENTS contains filed names of corresponding field.
DOMAIN:
DOMAIN contains the technical properties of the DATA ELEMENT such as type, size, lower case and conversion routines.

Domain contains only technical attributes (data type , size) where as Data Element contains Technical attribute as well as Semantic attributes(Field description).

Data element is the collection of domain with short description, whereas domain is collection of datatype and length.
