2x=4 current age of the boy
then, x=4/2, x=2 years old current age of the girl
after 4 years, the age of the girl will be 2+4=6

The first statement is just a reference to determine the girls age is 4 years older than the boys when he was 4. We dont know what the bits age was 4 years ago. The boy could easily be 4 or older, making the girl 12 or older 4 years later.

They are currently 8 and 4 since she is twice his age. In four years time she will still be 4 only years older than him (no longer twice his age). Since she will then be 12 and he will still be 4 years younger, he will be 8. (12-4 =8)

it means (2^3)(x^3)=3/128
so 2x =3/128
it means 2x = one side of a big cube
