Probability question. A word "ROORKEE" is given to us. What is probability that same letters will always be together?

Group same letters as one so now v have 4 groups: [EE],[K],[OO],[RR]

to arrange these: 4!*(2!*2!*2!)/(2!*2!*2!)

                        = 4!

                        = 24

the two r's , o's & e's are taken together . There the total no. of permutation of [rr][oo][ee][k] =4!=24.Now the total permutation without restriction is 7!/(2!*2!*2!)=840 Therefore the probabilityp(x)=24/840=1/35.
