What does a Config File in parallel extender consist of? 

Config file consists of the following.
a) Number of Processes or Nodes.
b) Actual Disk Storage Location.

Biggest strength of Datastage PX is its configuration file.. Datastage engine learns about size and shape of the system by reading configuration file.

It contains Nodes and resource available for running the job.

1. fastname-----usually networkname,It is physicall node name,That stages use to open
                         connections for high voume data transfers.
                           use ::uname -n
2.pool-------------node assigned to the pool,,,based on the charectoristics of                                              the  processing nodes you can group nodes into set of pools.

3.resource-------It can disk,scratchdisk,rdbms,informix,oracle...etc
