A person is prisoned for 60 days . In that 60 days he earns rs.170.If he works he will get payed Rs.7 per day. If he doesn't work Rs.3 he should pay to that prison.Find out how many days he worked.

No.of working days are 35 Dayslet the no.of working days=xthen the no.of he was absent =60-xfor every working day he gets Rs.7/- & non working day he loses Rs.3/-so,7x-3(60-x)=17010x=350x=35

A man walks at 4 km/hr on plain, then at 3 km/hr uphill and then returns through the same road at 6 km/hr downhill and at 4 km/hr on the plain. It takes altogether 6 hours. So what distance he covered in one way?

Let the distance covered one way on plain be x ,uphill be ytime = distance travelled/speedx/4 + y/3 + y/6 + x/4 = 6x/2 + y/2 = 6x+y=1212km
