Command su to be used for Acquiring superuser status
Suppose you are already logged in with a username juliet, you can get the superuser status like below.
$ su
Password: ******** -> root’s password. But this is not temporary.

There are 2 to do this.1) Edit /etc/passwd file by chaning the UID of the required user to "0"     This makes normal user as superuser2) Using "sudo", ordinary user can execute any command with superuser privileges.
