    W.C. slab is generally are sunk by about 50 cm. below general floor level for Indian type water closet. What is the term called and what is the purpose of this?

    To facilitate a good ornamental view & to conceal all pipe lines regarding to W.C etc

    It is called the trap and it is provided so as to avoid the risk of blast of the pipelines due to gases liberated in stools
