what type of access specifiers can we use for local variables?

Local variable cannot be modified using any of the acceess specifiers means you can not write private or protected or public before them.Local variables are by default (implicitly) private no need to make it explicitly private or protected or public otherwise it won't compile.

Local variables (including formal parameters) are visible only in the method, constructor, or block in which they are declared. Access modifiers (private, public, ...) can not be used with local var...

Follow these step;1. Set JAVA_HOME=C:/JDK2 SET CATALINA_HOME=C:/TOMCAT3. CLASSPATH=C:/servlet.jav;.;jsp.jar;Then go into tomcat folder search servlet.jar copy short cut paste at desktop and double click.

You will be able to compile but it will through a run time error saying "main method not public".

It will compile but gives error at run time......

The complier will throw error that there is no main() method. main() should be public always please note.
