Flat File Source

I am new to Informatica and learning it, Can anybody please tell me how we receive source as flat file in informatica? From where we get this flat file?

We need to create the Flat file or import the file if already exists. Source Analyser--> Create or Import file

You create a one note in desktop and insert the data with delimiter as you require and save it . Go to source qualifier and import as flat file and import from desktop.
