fanout: connects components with small no of partition to the large  no of prtitions.
            ex: partition components.

fan in : fan in flow connects a component with a greater depth of parallelism to one with lesser depth thati s it folls a many to one pattern. example departition component.

fan out : fan out is opposite of fan out example component is partition component.

Fan in flow is mainly used for sending data from partions to single file (departioning) and its vice versa fan out flow for partitioning.
