Tabular Models have lot of advantages. Its like writing performance effective query where u will use sub queries. (eg:send the right data thru the sub query rather than giving a check for the full dataset in the master query) the tabular model is also used as a resolution where the total may go unmatching when u use compund metrics. Tabular model comes to rescue when u have to perform a multiple fact table querying. When the dataset is small u can go for a cross join. But what happens in the big dataset ones.. u have to go for tabular ref....
