simple definitions are: 
QA:assurance for process control.here we r going to follow certain quality standards and strive for process improvement.we r not going to deal with product.the intension is to follow good quality standards.if we follow these automatically we are going to produce better/best product. 
 
that means we are following prevention mechanism where we are going to follow the proverb"prevention is better than cure".that means instead not following the standards and releasing a worst product and then following its better to follow earlier. 
 
QC:control of the product.after finding defects we are going to rectify. 
it is quite reverse to QA.we r curing the defects. 
best examples for these QA ,QC are traffic rules.

 Testing is Quality Control.

Quality Control  is to test the Product quality.

Quality Assurance is to test the process to deliver quality product.

  • Relates to specific product or service.
  • Set up measurment programs to evaluate process.
  • Verifies specific attributes are there or not in product/service.

QC is the team or department that that will check or validate the software after development is finished.QC is the part of QA.

Is a planned and systematic set of activities and necessary to provide adequate confidence that product that is called QA
It is process oriented
Defect prevention based

QC--Quality control
product quality is compared with applicable standards and action is taken when non confirmence is detected
It is product oriented
defect detection based
