Qn: I have an application where in i have main tabs. When we click on one of the main tabs we tend to see the sub tabs associated with it. How do i record in QTP? When i see the properties of the object it is showing me webelement. Does QTP recognises webelement??? Also how do i record these sub tabs? It is similar to one in common websites. Normally when we take our mouse to the tab we tend to see the sub tabs!!!!Plz someone reply.

When u r recording the script , click on main tab. it will show sub tab. then click on any subtab. it will record that step and record the object in object repository. Once the object is in object repository, QTP recognises it during the run.

I HAVE TO SEND THE ABOVE MESSAGE TO MY APPLICATION.
Problem is I am able to send the message but WITHOUT THE SQUARES.I used msgbox function to see if the message is picking up correctly from the datatable.It is picking the message correctly with SQUARES but when you click on send the message is displayed without the squares(delimeters)Qtp is inot recognising those.

If anyone could suggest anything that will help me move forward i will really appreciate it.">

Vbscript does not recognises or read the flat files like notepads etc. We create an object which is called 'file system object' which contains flat files. From that file system object we can retrieve values and can apply on test.

in Test Director 8.0 there is a option called import data from Excel Sheet from that we can import data to Test Director

To import data from a spreadsheet to Test Director, you first need to install add-in to Export MS-Excel data to TD, which is available on mercury website.Then from Tools-->Export to Test Director menu item you can import the data to TD.

How can we use 2 datasheet at a time ? I understand the sheet we imports to global will be visible through out the test. Can we import another datasheet to the test (to the local sheet) and switch between the sheets ?

Hi all,Please help me out in this issue. I created an action and imported a sheet to the global datatable.From the first action itself I am calling an external action.In that external action,I tried to import another datatsheet(xl sheet) using the importSheet command to a local datatable space of an action.But QTP stops at this command and says " datatable does not exist" and it shows the previous datasheet that we imported in the first action to the global sheet.How can we use 2 datasheet at a time ?
