How can convert the above string to charArray without using any buit-in function in java?

You dont need the "finally" clause. Leave it out altogether, and the same thing happens - the code will get executed anyway. The "finally" clause is irrelevant.

Hashtable does not allow null values or null keys, whereas hash map allows null keys and null values. Hashtable is synchronzied whareas hashmap is not synchronized. In case of single thread using hashmap is faster than the hashtable. In case of multiple thereads, using hashtable is advisable.

Basically, Tomcat can be called a WEB CONTAINER which has to the ability to run War files(JSPs, struts, servlets,etc) and not Ear files(EJBs) where as WebLogic is an Application Server also called EJB CONTAINER in which you can also deploy Ear files with JTA/JTS, JMS, etc support.Sarav.
