Well, PERL is an extremely popular scripting language which is well known for its string handling abilities. Here's as a quote which explains what PERL stands for ,
Any application for which string handling is needed PERL is used. The name is occasionally given as "PERL" (for Practical Extraction and Report Language). Although the expansion has prevailed in many of today's manuals, including the official Perl man page, it is a backronym and officially the name stands for nothing. The spelling of PERL in all caps is therefore used as a shibboleth for detecting community outsiders. Several other backronyms have been suggested, including the humorous Pathologically
As far as why nobody has posted about it is concerned the following could be the reasons.
1)This PERL subforum was started hardly a week back
2)PERL is mainly used in Unix environment. Not too many Unix programmers are around here. (Atleast I felt so)
Just give a search for PERL in Google. You search result count will cross a million! That's the popularity of PERL! You will get a lot of documentation about PERL. That's not at all a problem!

Someone says "Impossible is nothing". The man next him says "Let me see you licking your elbow tip!"
