Thread: About the log out error Message of this website

Hi Friends,

I hope you people observed this.

1.Click on "Logout" Button in this website
2.Then a Pop-Up messagebox will get displayed saying "Are you sure to log out"
3.In the message box ,we can see "Ok" and "Cancel" Buttons.

what i feel is, the pop-up message box should have "Yes " and "No " buttons


any comments on my question??

Hi Krishna,

The window you see as a result of clicking on "Logout" button could be a Standard windows dialog control box. It by default would have OK and CANCEL buttons on it.

Basically I would say it depends on the End User Perspective as to how he wants it to be. The standard control can be replaced by customized dialog box having "YES" and "NO" buttons.

Since most developers prefer to use Standard inbuilt dialog control objects, we see the dialog box with "OK" and "CANCEL" buttons. I guess since the functionality achieved by both the cases is the same, it becomes a matter which can be ignored from a testing perspective.

I leave the answer open to discussion by other geek members.

Hi Krishna,

It is a good observation. I too feel it is to be a bug under the perspective of usability testing. But this bug will not lead to any serious deviation, but fixing it will solve the confusion prevailing among the users.

by default pop up window has "OK" and "CANCEL" options .

while coding developer can change the options
usually number is entered for these names
eg
1 represents ok
2 represents cancel
3 yes and so on
and
by giiving desired number u can get "yes" or "no" or "ok" or cancel
or even u can have single or three button option in the pop up window

you r right it should be yes or no then it will be more comfortable
