    Re: verification and validation tasks

    Hi,
Verification - It typically invloves reviews and meetings to evaluate Documents, Planning, Coding, Requirements and Specifications of a project.

and Validation - It is done to check whether we are building the right product or not and is the customer satisfied with it.
    Usually done after Verification.

Verification techniques :walkthrough, inspection, checklists and issuelists

validation : it typically involves actual testing like

unit, integration, system, regression, UAT testing etc.

Verification is QA process, It is oriented to prevention, and to assure the quality of the product.( goal is to prevent errors in the program)

Validation is QC proess, it is oriented to detection, and it measures the quality of the product.( goal is to find errors)

Thumbs up Re: verification and validation tasks

Following points will help you in performing verification and validation tasks

Verification and Validation (V&V) is a Software Testing activity to enhance quality of the software being built. It is planned and conducted systematically through out the software lifecycle.

    • Verification is the checking or testing of items, including software, for conformance and consistency with an associated specification. Software testing is just one kind of verification, which also uses techniques such as reviews, analysis, inspections and walkthroughs.

    • Validation is the process of checking that what has been specified is what the user actually wanted. Validation activity may begin when most or all software functions as per customer expectations. Validation testing provides final accurance that the software meets all functional, behavioural and performance requirements. Usually Black-box testing is used for this activity.

Verification: Are we building the Project right?

Validation: Are we building the right product?
