Hi,

The V-model is a software development model which is the extension of waterfall model. Instead of moving down in a linear way, the process steps are bent upwards after the coding phase, to form the typical V shape. The V-Model demonstrates the relationships between each phase of the development life cycle and its associated phase of testing.

V- model is running development and testing parallely with development phases, where as in water fall model there is only one testing phase.

I think you are explaining V-V model not the v-model.
There is difference b/w these two models.

The V-Model takes into consideration the various particularities that occur during the development of IT systems in the Federal Administration:

Particularities of critical real-time software result, on the one hand, from the system structure where software is only a part of a complex total, on the other hand, they result from the structure of the development projects themselves, since the software-related aspects are not transparent for the upper level management.
Requirements that have to be met during a certification of trusted software, according to the IT security criteria.
Particularities of detailed information modeling the way it is required for the development of IT systems.
Interaction between software and hardware, the way it influences the procedure of developing real-time systems.
Interaction between software and method definition the way it is important during the development of IT systems.
Particularities resulting from the high requirements to the software to be generated, with regard to reliability, changeability, portability, and reusability.
The V-Model describes the development process as seen from a merely functional aspect. Special organizational models are not handled since the system is to be applied in different authorities/companies/organizations. Therefore, activities and roles of the V-Model must be allocated to the organizational units and to the persons in charge at the beginning of a project.
