    Hi,

I know of a few good books that describe in detail of the Entire Software Testing Life Cycle along with Testing methodologies. You would find more of a practical approach rather than a theoretical one.

    1) Art of Software Testing - G.J. Myers.

    2) Software Testing - Ron Patton. (Oriented more towards Beginners)

I am sure people would chip in with more info about some good reading stuff.

    Cheers....

One thing that i can say is, no book gives you practical knowledge. only practice can give you that . For reference go for the books suggested in previous post.
