    Why is it considered as CYCLE

    We commonly refer to software as following a life CYCLE..??
    why is it considered to be a CYCLE

    HI Abhi,

    Anything will be considered as a Cycle if it is a repetitive or cyclic process. Software is also a kind of that.

    Once you are about to Develop a software they will start off with Requirement gathering then to Design, Development or coding, Testing, Maintenance and Implementation. But the process does not stop at this stage. Suppose if you want to upgrade your system for example if you are using windows operating system it is upgraded from 95 to 98 then the higher version will have lot of updated features.

    Upgrading the system will once again start from the requirement gathering to its live.

    In the same way from one stage it can also be diverted back to the previous stage. Suppose if you are doing design of a system and on that time you find the requirements are not sufficient then it is once again diverted to the requirement phase where you will planning once again.
