Re: what is main difference between script and descriptive programing?

    Hi Srinu,

QTP has 2 views - Expert View and other is the Keyword view. Whatever we view in the Expert View is the script part.

Scripting can be done using Objects already identified into the Object Repository. This is normal scripting.

Sometimes when we wish to handle runtime objects that appear as part of normal navigational flow, we script for such objects using Descriptive Programming.

Descriptive Programming indicates working with Objects that are not part of Object Repository. Generally these are idenitifed using Name:Value Pair. So in short,

Descriptive Programming - working with Objects not part of Repository while Normal scripting uses already recognized Objects present in repository.

    Cheers...
