How does browser identify ASP file

If i saved the page as .aspx how the browser knows that its a ASP file?

I need to know how the broWser knows that the saved file is asp file...
If i include some html tags and other scripts how it recognize that its a asp file..

Browser understands only HTML,Java Script and CSS. The ASP.Net engine converts the aspx page into pure html page and send it over browser. The only things that confuses is the extension which is .aspx or asp. It can be any thing. Because Inside the source It reads tag and start parsing it as a html page.
