    Re: Test lab setup

Test Lab setup in general refers how does the environment supports you for doing the testing.

When the requirements documents are ready then the use cases are derived out from them. From the Use case the test scenarios are identified and test cases are written. In all the Test management tools we will have the Test Lab area where the test cases are written and mapped against their corresponding Requirements. Test Lab is the area where the identified test cases are written for testing the application.

While writing the test cases following are the basic things that needs to be checked
    1. The status of the application
    2. Environment under which the application is to be tested
    3. Data base Access and Report access are available for the testers
    4. Application is deployed for testing

Checking up of above criterias will correspond to the Test Lab Setup.
