Surely, any person with any background can get the job in IT field. But most of big companies either look for persons with BE or MCA. If you are a fresher with zoology background and having strong skills in testing you can join middle level organizations and after gaining 2 or more years of experience you can easily get job in tier 1 companies. To be on testing make yourself strong in any of the automation tools like QTP or Rational Robot, and update yourself with latest technologies. Hardwork will certainly get the job easily.

Hi Naveena,

It is absolutely possible for a pure science background person to enter into Testing domain.

Testers on a simple note, should be able to understand the application based on Requirement documents and have the ability to think outside the box. So incase you are person with strong Analytical skills and an ability to think a bit differently, there should not be a problem at all.

I would suggest you to go through a few testing books or join a course like SQTL that would give you an insight into what actually testing is - theoretically.

A graduate can also try in testing but he should be a good puzzle solver with good communication skills (especially written).
