    Objects recognized in different names

I am using QTP to automate an application. Because of some major changes in application recently, I had to change the object repository completely. But I am currently facing the following problem.

When I try recording in a blank test, Iam getting the object's name properly. But when I am trying to record with the object reposiitory (correct OR) loaded, objects are getting recognized in different names (E.g, windowname_2, windowname_3, etc)

Is there any particular reason this coula happen? Is there any setting I need to change.

Re: Objects recognized in different names

    Hey Gokul,

Once you load a Object repository at runtime, aal objects present in the repository get loaded into memory.

Hence when you try to record a script which contains the same object names, you are actually trying to create duplicate objects. What any automation tool would do, is to differentiate these objects with underscores and numericals....

Hence you see windowname_2, windowname_3, etc.

Incase you have already loaded the Object repository, dont record the script. Try using the objects to code the script directly....

    Cheers.............
