    Thumbs up Re: hi all

Test plan is a document which specifies about the entire plan for the testing activity. The document will shows the types of testing to be carried out, what are the system changes, business requirements that are going to be carried out in the testing, the time line of testing, the assumptions for the testing activity, the proposed risk that may occur in the testing, the team going to carry out the testing etc.,

Test methodology document shows the different method that the application is going to be tested. For example in a version to be tested, there may be smoke test, unit test, regression test and system test that may be carried out. This document will describe what are the modules the different test should be done, what testing should be done for the requirements that are new, and how the defect verification is to be done.

Test Strategy is a strategy or objective in which the entire testing activity is to be carried out. It will describes which approach the testing is going to occur on the requirements received.

All these three terms test plan, methodology, strategy some times refer to the same meaning, but there are slight modifications between them. The testing team will prepare any of the following or sometimes two of the above mentioned documents are prepared, and it depends on the client and the testing flow.
