Cognos Display first date of month

Hi

I'm working in COGNOS 8.2 and SQL SERVER. I'm having a report with 2 date prompts; one is from_date the other one is to_date. By default it shows current date while running. But i want to display the first date of the month(ie for eg, 01/10/2007) for from_date and wanna display last date of the month (for eg: 31/10/2007 or like 28/02/2007) for the to_date.

Can sumbody help me out in this issue?

YOu can use day function or substrings to pic the date.
