Qtp and Microsoft vista os

Iam planning to install windows vista os because some of the options in QTP are not working properly in windows xp.I wanted to know did anybody installed QTP8.2 or QTP 9 successfully in windows vista os

QTP runs better on XP than on Vista.

Better to stick with XP.
It will not work for Windows Vista,even I am facing the same prob It got successfully installed on my system (Vista)I ran it as Admin and even made my User Account Control disable@ that time but still I am not able to launch the QTP Wizard.

Hi,

QTP works fine in XP with out any issues.
QTP 9.2 supports MS Vista 32 bit edition and 9.5 supports 64 bit editions.
Check with latest versions 9.2 or 9.5.

I've installed QTP 10 on Vista OS successfully and seems to be OK apart from the fact that it's difficult to follow the tutorial as the menu navigation has changed in places.

While on the subject of QTP on Vista OS; does anybody knows why starting the flight application from "Start Program" action is not recorded in QTP 10.

Hai jonjay,

Check whether the following setting is enabled.

Automation->Record and Run Settings-> Record and run test on any open Windows-based application.

Now try recording and let me know.
