    Difference b/w static and dynamic testing

    Static testing:-

    The Verification activities are Static Testing.Tester have a checklist to check whether the product is as per the set standards of the organization.These standards can be for Coding, Integrating and Deployment.Review's, Inspection's and Walkthrough's are static testing methodologies.

    Dynamic testing:-

    The validation activities are dynamic Testing.Tester have SRS to check whether the product is as per requirements of the user.Unit Tests, Integration Tests, System Tests and Acceptance Tests are Dynamic Testing methodologies.

    the actual testing wat we r doing on the application is dynamic testing and all revies such as test plan reviws,test case revies,design reviws,code reviws cums under ststic testing

    simply put,static testing is more like GUI testing,where we check for the functional requirements.there is no test data involved.where as dynamic testing is where we validate the system/AUT against user requirements.this is where test plan, test scenario,test cases come in.

    Static testing is white box testing where the code is validated, in which the statement coverage, decision coverage and condition coverage are done. Usually unit testing is static testing, which is done at the developers end. Dynamic testing is black box testing where the functionality of the system is validated.

    The static testing is nothing but reviewing the code without executing only experience person can do this

    where as dynamic testing is finding out the defects by executing the code line by line.
