Can I name report testing as database testing

Could any one explain me About Report testing? Is report testing comes under database testing? I involved in report testing, doing the same by using sql server to validate the fields displayed on the report with database. But I'm confused with this. Can I name report testing as database testing.

The ans is NOPE.

you can't say that Database Testing or the Report testing is same as DB Testing includes lot of other things ex The Stored Proc and their compatibily,Deallock between different DB component and so on...

same is with testing the reports,
Yes report contais most of the Fields which is mapped from DB but along with that they also have their calculation function and all it all depends on what you are using and how you r using you report engine For example crystal report supports even programming you r function so you need not be total dependent on the DB for all the Values.

I can go on writing more and more but i thibk this is enough for you to understand that these two are no same.
