Hey Here is the answer for your question:

People think everything is similar and same.
    But here the actual meaning:

    Fault - That user make.
Error - That occurs on program execution. (Expected / Unexpected)
Bug - That can be reproducible
Defect - That you log into tracker to resolve the bug. Helps in tracking.

    Hope u got st. answers.

    Arun

    Re: testing

    hey this is ur answer:

    Defects:-
It is defined as the deviation from the requirements.
Defect is always associate with product.

    Error:-
It is defined as the mistake associated with the program.
Hence error is always associated with the program rather than the product, whereas the defect is associated with the product encountered as malfunctionality.
In other words, error is a cause and the defect is an effect.
In other words error is defined as the deviation from the formalities of syntax and semantic.
    Errors are of two types:

    1. Syntax Error - Mistakes associated with the formalities of the program.
    2. Semantic Error- Mistakes associated with the logic.

Note:-Syntax errors are encountered during the process of compilation and so they are called as compile time errors. On the other side semantic errors are encountered in the process of execution and so they are called runtime errors.

    Bug:-
Bug is conceptually same as the defect. But from the point of usage it is different from the defect in such a way that the defect is used by both the professionals as well as customers, while the bug is used mostly by the professionals.

    i hope u got it

    All of you use torch.

If there is no battery in torch then it is BUG.

If battery is dead then it is ERROR.

Due to this bug or error, torch is not working,
    this is FAULT or DEFECT.
