How to record for Java Application

Can someone please suggest me how to record for Java Application. I need step by step details. We are using JDK 1.4.03. I dont know how to run that application by giving Main Class and Class path. I am giving Main class and Class path but it is not working.

use the same command to invoke your application under "startApp" ,
this will invoke the application and you can do the recording

or

you can start the application independently and then start the recording
