    Talking Core Functions for QTP

    Hi Guys,

I am working on a QTP requirement, my client mentioned that many automated testers would say that they have strong QTP experience, but when you talk to them, they don't know how to use it. Can anyone help me with a list of the different functions of QTP that I can use to screen and find a QTP SME?

    Thank you!
    Aesha.

If provided with the questions, would you be able to differentiate correct answers from incorrect ones? I really don't want to question your knowledge here, just asking out of curiosity.

    Re: Core Functions for QTP

    Hey Ashoo,

I am not technical, so for sure I will not know if the person is right or wrong, being the reason why I did not ask for questions, as this site has plenty, but I have requested a list of functions, that a candidate can say yes or no to.

I do have an idea of what I am looking for, below are some of the functions that I have gathered that a good QTP candidate should have - if there are any others that you can add to it, that will be great!!

    *Database connection and retrieving data
    *String manipulation
    *Report event and error handling
    *Device Replay
    *FileSystem Object
    *Windows shell Script functions
*using datatable and Excel to write and retrieve data
    *functions using QTP Automation model

    Thanks!!
    Aesha.
