    Can we assign input data from Notepad to the script?

    Can we assign input data from Notepad to the script? If so in what situation?

    You can use notepad for data input.But in notepad the field(s) should be seperated by delimiter like comma,semicolon etc.,.y u are opting for notepad rather than excel?..excel will pretty much simpler and easy.

    we can even go for notepad to give an input data to an application but with the help of delimiters like ',' '.'etc
    and save that file Now with the concept of Flatfiles in QTP we can easily parameterize the application to be tested

    but if we have bulk data input it will be hard to use dlimiter for every row and very panic..

    yes, we can assign input data from notepad and that process is called as Flatfiles. But the data must be separated using special characters like $,#.&.......
